This grant will provide Boxborough with 20 home composting bins, 15 rain barrel discount vouchers and a $3,940 Pay-As-You-Throw assistance grant. “This grant will provide the resources needed to further our abilities to continue to protect the environment, which is of growing concern in the Commonwealth. This grant will aid the town Boxborough and its residents in the continuation of their involvement in protecting our environment.” Since 1990, MassDEP has granted over $42 million in recycling equipment, household hazardous waste equipment, educational materials and technical assistance to municipalities throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Through grant offerings targeted at improving water conservation and air quality, MassDEP expresses their ongoing commitment to working in partnership with municipalities to protect the environment and improve the quality of life for Massachusetts residents. “Now more than ever, we must focus on the environment and make ourselves aware of the actions we take in protecting our natural resources to ensure that future generations can live in a clean and environmentally friendly Commonwealth.” |
